The Deer Manager
We built our own system to run the program.
- Every hunt booked in advance, one hunter per property.
- GPS check in and check out.
- Rest days between hunts so deer don't learn the pattern.
- Every harvest and every deer not recovered logged by tag.
- Property maps with setback rings.
- Owner notice before hunts, and a report to each owner at season end.
- Monthly harvest reports and a written annual report for municipalities.
Why the harvest drops
Fewer deer to find.
When a herd really comes down, every deer takes longer to find. A falling harvest with falling collisions is a program working. A harvest that never drops means the herd hasn't.
